1992년 디즈니 애니메이션 알라딘을 원작으로 만든 실사 영화, 윌 스미스의 지니로  관심을 받은 화제작이다. 사실 예고편에서 나온 '누가봐도 윌 스미스'인 지니, 애매한 CG에 기대를 안했던 작품이다. 

 

기우와는 달리,  CG가 환상적이었고 윌 스미스의 감초 역할이 두드러졌다. 노래, 랩은 물론이고 춤까지. 그의 끼 없이는 이정도로 성공하긴  어려웠을 것 같다. 다 아는 내용, 아는 노래이기 때문에 긴장감이 떨어질 수도 있다. 지니의 통통튀는 매력과 힙함, 또 웅장함으로 분위기를 살려냈다. 미나 마수드와 나오미 스캇의 노래, 춤, 연기력 또한 기대 이상으로 탄탄했다. 아쉬웠던 점이 있다면, 왕궁에 들어간 알라딘이 너무 어리숙한 모습으로 나와 답답했던 것이다. 좀 더 똑부러지고 당당한 모습이 어울렸을 것 같음.

Speechless

자스민 테마곡 'Speechless'는 원작에 없으며, 실사판에서 추가된 곡이다.

앨런 멩컨 작곡, 벤 파섹과 저스틴 파울 공동 작사로, 나오미 스캇이 직접 불렀다.

사실 원작 알라딘에서는 자스민의 의지와 강함이 크게 다가오진 않았다.

이 곡을 통해, 자스민의 '강인함' 싸워 이기겠다는 '의지'를 더 강렬하게 표현한 것 같다.

나오미 스캇의 선명하고 아름다운 목소리, 와닿는 가사로 speechless는 대박이 났으며

국내 음원차트에도 꾸준히 상위권을 차지하고 있다.
